Footsteps Community Development Foundation

Return & Refund Policy

Last updated: 2026-09-12

Footsteps Community Development Foundation is a registered non-profit organization. Because donations made through donate.footstepsbd.org directly support our ongoing programs and projects, donations are generally non-refundable. However, we recognize that genuine errors can occur, and this Policy explains when a refund may be considered and how to request one.

1. General Policy

Donations made to Footsteps Community Development Foundation are generally non-refundable, as funds are allocated to programs promptly after they are received.

2. Cases Where a Refund May Be Considered

Footsteps may consider a refund request in the following circumstances:

  • An unintentional duplicate payment for the same donation
  • An incorrect donation amount caused by a technical or human error
  • An unauthorized or fraudulent transaction, once verified
  • A payment that was successfully charged but for which no corresponding donation record was created due to a technical failure on our Site or payment gateway

3. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please contact Footsteps as soon as possible after the transaction, and in any event within 7 calendar days, using the contact details in the footer of this Site. Please provide:

  • Your full name
  • The transaction/reference ID from your donation confirmation
  • The donation amount and date of payment
  • The reason for your refund request
  • A contact phone number and email address

Footsteps reserves the right to request additional information to verify a refund request before it is approved.

4. Refund Timeline

Once a refund request is approved, Footsteps will process the refund within 7 to 10 working days.

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method used for the donation wherever technically possible. Depending on your card issuer or bank, it may take additional time beyond our processing window for the refunded amount to appear in your account or statement; this additional time is outside of Footsteps' control.

5. Circumstances Where a Refund Will Not Be Issued

Refunds will generally not be issued where:

  • The donor simply changes their mind after a successful, correctly processed donation
  • The donated funds have already been allocated or disbursed to a program or activity
  • The refund request is made more than 7 calendar days after the transaction, except where exceptional circumstances apply

Footsteps' decision on a refund request is final.
